Who should apply?
Anyone with a passion of storytelling.
I'm a writer/director. What good would entering your competition do for me?
Well, it may not be for you. But my best advice to writer/directors is to get your work out there. If you get noticed as a writer, great, now show them your directing skills. If you get noticed as a director, excellent, now you have the opportunity to write your own film. Most writers have a few scripts lying around that they think are good, but they may not be the script that they are dying to direct. Why not submit it to us for the chance to have it professionally produced and to bring you some (maybe a lot of) publicity. It's not helping you out in the top shelf of your closet!
I was wondering whether I should include a cover page with my name on it or not?
A cover page is not necessary. We do not print them out for judging. We only track scripts by their submission ID number (which we write on each). Many people on withoutabox upload two of their scripts, one with a cover page attached and one without. It is up to you.
"I just wanted to thank you for your efforts. I am new to screenwriting and the whole contest circuit. The experience with Gimme Credit has by far been the best I have encountered. I especially appreciate the feedback you and your judges provided. While many contests promise
"I enjoyed participating in your well-organized competition and look forward to entering again in '09."
"Thank you for the feedback. This alone helps your competition stand head and shoulders above a lot of other screenplay competitions out there."
